Things to do!

I need a space to post my to-do list that will force me to get it done. Even after 8 years of teaching, I still have so much work to do to get ready for the year.
To Do:
Create stickers for math journals
Find bins for each table group
Find a comfortable carpet and chairs for the library area
Make more manipulatives
Finish lesson plans for first week of school
Decide if I am going to use a homework journal
Create math games and centers for first quarter
Add websites to my website
Finish back to school letter
Finish calendar pieces and math madness board
Finish STEM unit 1
Print out classroom rules signs

I'm sure there's a lot more, but just seeing this is overwhelming! I'll post pictures and let you know when things are completed.

Common Core Craziness

I spent three days this summer at an intensive session on Common Core. I spent it learning about the new developments in STEM education. It was a great experience and I got a lot of new ideas to try in the classroom when I start. I hope to post lots of great STEM centric lesson on here for people to use. Please post your great ideas as well.
Maryland has developed 7 STEM practices which are to be infused in all subject areas. Luckily, they correlate with the 8 Mathmatical Practices. My goal for my students this year is for them to be proficient in the practices and be able to apply them to all work. I will let you know how we do.
